These are the most commonly reported problems on Hyundai Tucson models (2010–2022), based on owner reports and workshop data across the UK.
CP4 Common-Rail Injection Pump Failure
The pump fails prematurely due to poor diesel fuel quality (contamination, water, low lubricity). When it fails, metal debris circulates through the entire fuel system, clogging injectors and the fuel rail.[1]
Piezo-Electric Injector Wear and Failure
Injectors wear prematurely, particularly if CP4 pump debris has entered the system. Injector seats foul with carbon deposits, reducing spray pattern and combustion efficiency.[1][2]
