Data-Driven Used Car Intelligence
Last updated: 9 March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Get Car Wise website at getcarwise.co.uk and all associated vehicle report services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Get Car Wise ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service in any way — including browsing the website, generating a free report, or purchasing a paid report — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
Get Car Wise provides data-driven vehicle intelligence reports for used cars registered in the United Kingdom. Our reports compile and present information gathered from multiple independent third-party data sources, combined with our own analysis, scoring, and commentary, to help buyers make more informed decisions.
The Service is provided to individual consumers for personal, non-commercial use only. The Service is not intended for use by motor trade professionals, insurance companies, or any other commercial purpose unless expressly agreed in writing.
THE SERVICE AND ALL REPORTS ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.
Get Car Wise reports are provided for general informational and guidance purposes only. They do not constitute professional, mechanical, legal, or financial advice. Reports must not be solely or primarily relied upon when making any decision to purchase, sell, insure, finance, or otherwise deal with a vehicle.
By using the Service, you explicitly acknowledge, understand, and agree to each of the following:
3.1 No Guarantee of Data Accuracy or Completeness
The data in our reports is sourced from third-party providers including (but not limited to) the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), and other licensed data services. While we use reasonable care in compiling report data, we cannot and do not guarantee that any data is accurate, complete, current, or free from errors. Each report represents a "snapshot" of the data available to us at that particular moment in time. Data from third-party sources may be delayed, incomplete, outdated, or contain errors or omissions originating from the source providers. Records may not cover the full history of a vehicle, particularly for periods before digitalisation of records, periods when the vehicle was registered outside the UK, or where data has not been reported or recorded by the relevant authorities.
3.2 Not a Substitute for Professional Inspection
Our reports are not a replacement for, and should never be treated as equivalent to, a physical vehicle inspection carried out by a suitably qualified and independent mechanic, engineer, or vehicle inspector. We strongly recommend — and you agree that you understand this recommendation — that any vehicle should be independently and professionally inspected before purchase, regardless of the contents of any Get Car Wise report. No data report can detect mechanical faults, bodywork defects, accident damage repairs, electrical problems, or other physical issues with a vehicle.
3.3 Not a Substitute for Your Own Due Diligence
You are solely responsible for conducting your own thorough due diligence before purchasing any vehicle. This includes but is not limited to: physically inspecting the vehicle, test driving the vehicle, verifying the V5C registration document matches the vehicle and seller, checking all documentation provided by the seller, verifying the vehicle's identity (VIN plate, engine number), obtaining an independent professional vehicle inspection, and making your own enquiries with relevant authorities. Our report is one tool among many that you should use; it is not a comprehensive or conclusive assessment.
3.4 No Guarantee of Vehicle Condition or History
A "clear" result on any check within our report (including but not limited to stolen checks, finance checks, write-off checks, and mileage analysis) does not guarantee that the vehicle is free from the relevant issue. It means only that no adverse record was found in the specific databases we checked at the time of the report. Records may be missing, not yet reported, reported incorrectly, or held in databases we do not have access to. A vehicle may have outstanding finance, be stolen, have undisclosed damage, have a clocked odometer, or have other issues that do not appear in any database.
3.5 Scores, Ratings, and Assessments Are Indicative Only
The Get Car Wise Score, risk ratings, condition assessments, repair predictions, cost estimates, and any other analysis, commentary, or opinion provided in our reports are generated using our own proprietary methodology and algorithms. They are indicative and opinion-based only. They should not be treated as definitive, authoritative, or professional assessments of a vehicle's condition, safety, value, or fitness for purpose. Different assessment methodologies may produce different results. Our scores do not constitute a roadworthiness assessment, a safety certificate, or a professional valuation.
3.6 Valuation Estimates Are Approximate
Any vehicle valuations or price intelligence provided are estimates only, based on market data available at the time of the report. Actual vehicle values may differ significantly from our estimates based on the specific condition of the vehicle, its exact specification, service history, geographic location, time of year, and prevailing market conditions. Our valuations do not constitute a formal vehicle appraisal and should not be relied upon for insurance, finance, legal, or tax purposes.
3.7 Known Issues Are General to Make and Model
Known issues listed in reports relate to the vehicle's make and model in general — they do not confirm that the specific vehicle being checked is affected by, or will develop, any particular fault. The absence of a known issue from our database does not mean the vehicle or model is free from potential problems.
3.8 MOT Data Limitations
MOT history data is sourced from the DVSA and reflects only what was recorded during official MOT tests. MOT tests are a minimum safety standard check conducted at a single point in time — they are not a comprehensive assessment of vehicle condition. A vehicle may develop faults between MOT tests. Advisory items noted during MOT tests may or may not indicate an imminent failure. Our analysis of MOT data, including trend analysis, failure predictions, and advisory tracking, is our own interpretation and opinion, not a professional mechanical assessment.
3.9 Safety Recall Information
Safety recall information is sourced from publicly available data and may not be complete or current. We cannot confirm whether a specific recall has been carried out on the specific vehicle being checked. You should independently verify recall status with the vehicle manufacturer or an authorised dealer.
3.10 What We Do Not Check
Our reports do not include and should not be taken as covering:
You use the Service and rely on report contents entirely at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
The limitations and exclusions in this section apply regardless of whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis.
Statutory rights: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Get Car Wise, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your reliance on any report or data provided by the Service; (c) any breach of these Terms by you; (d) any claim by a third party arising from your use of the Service or any report; or (e) any decision you make based in whole or in part on information in a Get Car Wise report.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of data provided by these third parties. Each data source has its own limitations, coverage periods, update frequencies, and potential for error. Data may take days, weeks, or longer to be reported to or updated in third-party databases. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party data provider.
Free reports are provided at no charge and include limited data from publicly available sources. Paid reports include additional data from licensed providers and are subject to the pricing displayed at the time of purchase.
All payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Paid reports are generated and delivered to you immediately upon successful payment.
Cancellation rights: As the report is a digital product that is delivered to you, and therefore the contract is fully performed, immediately after you submit your request and make payment, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
Discretionary refunds: While you have no automatic right to a refund for a delivered report, we may at our sole discretion consider refund requests where:
Refund requests must be submitted to hello@getcarwise.co.uk within 14 days of purchase. Disagreement with our scores, assessments, opinions, or analysis does not constitute grounds for a refund. A report showing "clear" results that later prove incorrect due to data not being available in third-party databases at the time of the report does not constitute grounds for a refund.
